The word “pineapple” is synonymous with welcome, home,
hospitality and family. The vision of Pineapple Cove Academy was
to have an environment where parents and children would feel like
they were in an atmosphere just like their own home and there
was a feeling of security the moment you walked in our front doors.
John and Beth Moran, owners, had the passion to
fulfill this vision. Entrepreneurs, since their honeymoon and
having careers that spanned Management, Marketing, Finance, and
Psychology along with a culmination of life long experiences led
to the creation of Pineapple Cove Academy. Beth graduated from
Long Island University, C.W. Post, and John graduated from the
New York Institute of Technology. Their goal was to create the
ultimate academy in early education for young children by nurturing
and teaching children during their formative years which are so
crucial to a child's future success.
Another
member of the Moran family, Thomas Moran, is also an owner. He
is known to the staff and children around the “Cove”
as Mr. Tommy. Tom began his career 25 years ago as a General Contractor,
and joined our team, many years ago. Together we have created,
and imagined what today is Pineapple Cove Academy. Mr. Tom’s
master carpentry is visible throughout the building and in all
of our special events throughout the year. Sometimes you might
see him fixing something for a teacher, or creating something
new for the children.
At Pineapple Cove Academy, we believe that children should have
the opportunity to learn in a positive, loving and nurturing environment
in order to become healthy, responsible, confident and self-sufficient
adults. Child initiated and hands-on learning activities encourage
each child’s imagination, natural curiosity and self-esteem.
This underlying philosophy allows children to feel special at
Pineapple Cove. We provide children the quality education they
need and the peace of mind parents want when leaving their children
in the care of others.
